Jonathan was born in Belleville, Illinois, the youngest of ten children. He was first introduced to theatre in ninth grade while living in Davenport, Iowa, and was immediately hooked. His family later moved to Westerville, Ohio, where he finished high school and continued to explore his passion for acting and all things theatre.

Jonathan earned his undergraduate degree in theatre from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and his MFA in Acting from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.

A resident of Chicago for the past 38 years, he has appeared in over 100 productions across the city, as well as in two Broadway shows, four national tours, and numerous regional productions. His work also includes independent films, television commercials, and voiceovers.

Jonathan considers his greatest accomplishments to be his 40-year marriage to his wife, Sarah, their three children—Gabel, Colin, and Anna—and their magical granddaughter, Emila.
